For the last fifteen years, Joe White has been the Ellis County Engineer. Today was his last day with us. I was approached by Judy Armstrong (Head of Department of Development) and Debbie M. (Worked with Joe in engineering) to make a knife for Joe. Over the years Joe and I have had several conversations centered around our common interest of knives. I committed to making a knife for Joe. The handle is made of desert ironwood and the blade steel is 52100. My wife, Mary Hinds made the sheath. We are proud of the way it turned out. I believe Joe was pretty happy too. I wish Joe and his nice wife, Jan godspeed in what ever endeavors they choose from here.
